حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَمَّعَ النَّاسَ بِعَمَلِهِ سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ سَامِعَ خَلْقِهِ وَحَقَّرَهُ وَصَغَّرَهُ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ubayd told us: al-A'mash told us, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu Yazid, from Abdullah ibn Amr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever makes people hear of his deeds, Allah will make His creatures hear of him, and will belittle and demean him.
