حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَرَوْحٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ أَوْسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَحَبُّ الصِّيَامِ إِلَى اللَّهِ صِيَامُ دَاوُدَ كَانَ يَصُومُ نِصْفَ الدَّهْرِ وَأَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى اللَّهِ صَلَاةُ دَاوُدَ كَانَ يَرْقُدُ شَطْرَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ ثُمَّ يَرْقُدُ آخِرَهُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ ثُلُثَ اللَّيْلِ بَعْدَ شَطْرِهِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Bakr and Abd al-Razzaq said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, and Rawh said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, Amr ibn Dinar informed me that Amr ibn Aws informed him from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stopped at Mina during the farewell pilgrimage. People began asking him questions. A man came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I was not aware and I shaved before slaughtering." He said: "Slaughter and there is no harm." Another came and said: "I was not aware and I slaughtered before throwing the pebbles." He said: "Throw and there is no harm." He was not asked about anything done earlier or later except that he said: "Do it and there is no harm."
