English Translation
Abu Kamil narrated to us: Ziyad ibn Abdullah ibn Ulathah the judge, Abu Sahl, narrated, al-Ala ibn Rafi narrated from al-Farazdaq ibn Hanan the story-teller who said: Shall I not narrate to you a hadith that my ears heard and my heart retained, which I have not forgotten since? I went out with Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad to a gathering and we met Abdullah ibn Amr. He said: "Indeed, when a man comes to his brother and asks about him and his condition and about the people of his household - he only asks about himself and his own condition - then he says 'How is your food? How is your drink?' and he is only asking about his own condition - that is the most truthful of men." Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever meets Allah on the Day of Resurrection without associating anything with Him, no sin will harm him."
