حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ صُمْ مِنْ الشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ قَالَ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَمَا زَالَ حَتَّى قَالَ صُمْ يَوْمًا وَأَفْطِرْ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ لَهُ اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ قَالَ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَمَا زَالَ حَتَّى قَالَ اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ فِي كُلِّ ثَلَاثٍ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated from Mughirah, I heard Mujahid narrating from Abdullah ibn Amr from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: "Fast three days of the month." He said: "I am able to do more than that." He kept asking until he said: "Fast one day and break your fast one day." He also said to him: "Read the Quran in every month." He said: "I am able to do more than that." He kept asking until he said: "Read the Quran in every three days."
