حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ الْمَعْنَى وَاحِدٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سَوَّارٌ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرُوا أَبْنَاءَكُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ وَاضْرِبُوهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لِعَشْرِ سِنِينَ وَفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ وَإِذَا أَنْكَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَبْدَهُ أَوْ أَجِيرَهُ فَلَا يَنْظُرَنَّ إِلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ عَوْرَتِهِ فَإِنَّ مَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ سُرَّتِهِ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ مِنْ عَوْرَتِهِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Tufawi and Abdullah ibn Bakr al-Sahmi - the meaning being the same - said: Sawwar Abu Hamzah narrated from Amr ibn Shu'ayb from his father from his grandfather who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Command your children to pray at the age of seven, and discipline them for it at the age of ten, and separate them in their sleeping places. When one of you gives his slave or hired worker in marriage, he should not look at anything of their private parts, for what is below the navel to the knees is part of the private area."
