حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ وَقَّتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَلِأَهْلِ الشَّامِ الْجُحْفَةَ قَالَ وَلِأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنًا وَلِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ قِيلَ لَهُ فَالْعِرَاقُ قَالَ لَا عِرَاقَ يَوْمَئِذٍ.
English Translation
Jarir told us, from Sadaqah ibn Yasar: I heard Ibn Umar say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, set as the boundary for the people of Medina Dhu al-Hulayfah, and for the people of Syria al-Juhfah. He said: And for the people of Najd, Qarn; and for the people of Yemen, Yalamlam. It was said to him: "What about Iraq?" He said: "There was no Iraq at that time."
