حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّقَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَقَطَّعَ وَهِيَ الْبُوَيْرَةُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى { مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا } إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ.
English Translation
Hajjaj and Abu al-Nadr told us, they said: Layth told us; Nafi' told me, from Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, burned the palm trees of Banu al-Nadir and cut them down - they were at al-Buwayrah - so Allah the Exalted revealed: {Whatever palm trees you cut down or left standing} to the end of the verse.
