حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قُعُودًا إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ أَحْدَثَ حَدَثًا فَإِنْ كَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَلَا تَقْرَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي مَسْخٌ وَقَذْفٌ وَهُوَ فِي الزِّنْدِيقِيَّةِ وَالْقَدَرِيَّةِ.
English Translation
Harun ibn Ma'ruf told us; Abdullah ibn Wahb informed us; Abu Sakhr informed me, from Nafi', who said: While we were sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar, a man came and said, "So-and-so sends you greetings of peace" - referring to a man from the people of Syria. Abdullah said, "I have been informed that he introduced an innovation. If that is so, do not convey my greetings to him. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'There will be, among my nation, transformation and being cast down into the earth, and this concerns the heretics and the Qadariyyah (those who deny divine decree).'"
