حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا تَجَرَّعَ عَبْدٌ جَرْعَةً أَفْضَلَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ جَرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ يَكْظِمُهَا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى.
English Translation
Ali ibn Asim told us, from Yunus ibn Ubayd: al-Hasan told us, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'No servant swallows a gulp more excellent in the sight of Allah, mighty and sublime is He, than a gulp of anger which he suppresses seeking the countenance of Allah, exalted is He.'
