English Translation
Hashim told us, Layth told us, Nafi' told us, from Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had a ring made of gold, and he used to put its stone on the inside of his palm when he wore it. So the people did likewise. Then he sat on the pulpit and took it off, saying: "I used to wear this ring and put its stone on the inside." Then he threw it away and said: "By Allah, I will never wear it again." So the people threw away their rings.
