English Translation
Musa - meaning Ibn Dawud - told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Humayd b. Hani', from Abbas b. Julayd al-Hajri, from Ibn Umar, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, how many times is the slave forgiven?" He remained silent, then the man repeated the question, and he remained silent, then he repeated it again, so he said: "He is forgiven seventy times each day."
