English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi told us: Isma'il, meaning Ibn Ja'far, told us: Ibn Dinar informed me, from Ibn Umar, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: that he took a ring of gold and wore it, so the people took rings of gold. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood and said: I used to wear this ring, but I will never wear it again, and he cast it away, so the people cast away their rings.
