حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ فَإِنَّهُ مَطْيَبَةٌ لِلْفَمِ وَمَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ.
English Translation
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id told us: Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Ja'far, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar: that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: You must use the tooth-stick, for it purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord.
