حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِيَادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ لَقِيطٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ الْأَعْرَجِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَأَنَا عِنْدَهُ عَنْ الْمُتْعَةِ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ فَغَضِبَ وَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا كُنَّا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَنَّائِينَ وَلَا مُسَافِحِينَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَيَكُونَنَّ قَبْلَ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ كَذَّابُونَ ثَلَاثُونَ أَوْ أَكْثَرُ قَالَ أَبِي و قَالَ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.
English Translation
Affan told us: Ubaydullah ibn Iyad told us: Iyad, meaning Ibn Laqit, told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Nu'aym al-A'raji, who said: A man asked Ibn Umar, while I was with him, about mut'ah, the temporary marriage of women. He became angry and said: By Allah, we were not, in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fornicators or promiscuous. Then he said: By Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Before the Messiah al-Dajjal there will be liars, thirty or more. My father said, and Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi said: before the Day of Resurrection.
