English Translation
Husayn ibn Muhammad told us: Yazid, that is Ibn 'Ata', told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad: al-Hasan ibn Suhayl ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf told me, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade al-mithara, al-qassiyyah, gold rings, and al-mufdam. Yazid said: al-mithara is the skins of wild beasts; al-qassiyyah are striped silk garments brought from Egypt; and al-mufdam is that which is saturated with safflower dye.
