English Translation
Ubayd ibn Abi Qurrah told us, Sulayman - meaning Ibn Bilal - told us, from Abd Allah ibn Dinar, from Ibn Umar, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: "Whoever is going to swear, let him swear only by Allah, Mighty and Majestic." The Quraysh used to swear by their forefathers, so he said: "Do not swear by your forefathers."
