حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَبِيبٌ يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْتَمِرُ فِي رَجَبٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَخْبَرَ بِذَلِكَ عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمْرَةً إِلَّا وَهُوَ مَعَهُ وَمَا اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجَبٍ قَطُّ.
English Translation
Affan told us, Hammad ibn Salamah told us, Habib - meaning al-Mu'allim - informed us, from Ata', from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, that he asked Ibn Umar: "Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform Umrah in Rajab?" He said: "Yes." So he told Aishah that, and she said: "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abd al-Rahman; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed an Umrah but he [Ibn Umar] was with him, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed Umrah in Rajab at all."
