English Translation
Abu Sa'id, freedman of Banu Hashim, told us, Layth told us, Asim told us, from Abd Allah ibn Shaqiq, who said: I asked Ibn Umar about the night prayer, and Ibn Umar said: A man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the night prayer while I was between the two of them, and he said: "The night prayer is [performed] two by two; and when you fear the approach of dawn, hasten to end it with a single rak'ah, [and pray] two rak'ahs before the dawn prayer."
