English Translation
Isma'il told us, Ayyub informed us, from Nafi', that Ibn Umar was informed urgently of the death of Safiyyah, so he traveled that night a journey of three nights, traveling until evening. I said, "The prayer!" but he continued traveling and did not turn. He kept traveling until it grew dark, and Salim or a man said to him, "The prayer! Evening has come." He said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when travel pressed upon him, used to combine these two prayers, and I wish to combine them, so travel on." So he traveled until twilight had disappeared, then he dismounted and combined the two prayers.
