حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَنْبَأَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ هَلْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ قَالَ نَعَمْ.
English Translation
Abdullah said: I found in my father's book: Yazid narrated to us: Hanzalah informed us: I heard Tawus say: I heard Ibn Umar, when a man asked him whether the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had forbidden the jarr (clay jar) and the dubba' (gourd vessel), say: Yes.
