حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَفَعَ خَيْبَرَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا بِالشَّطْرِ فَلَمْ تَزَلْ مَعَهُمْ حَيَاةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلَّهَا وَحَيَاةَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَحَيَاةَ عُمَرَ حَتَّى بَعَثَنِي عُمَرُ لِأُقَاسِمَهُمْ فَسَحَرُونِي فَتَكَوَّعَتْ يَدِي فَانْتَزَعَهَا عُمَرُ مِنْهُمْ.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun told us, al-Hajjaj ibn Artat informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, handed over Khaybar to its people on the basis of a half-share of its produce, and it remained with them throughout the life of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, entirely, and throughout the life of Abu Bakr, and throughout the life of 'Umar, until 'Umar sent me to divide it among them, but they bewitched me, so that my hand became contracted, and 'Umar took it away from them.
