حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ وَبَرَةَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الذِّئْبِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ يَعْنِي وَالْفَأْرَةَ وَالْغُرَابَ وَالْحِدَأَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَالْحَيَّةُ وَالْعَقْرَبُ فَقَالَ قَدْ كَانَ يُقَالُ ذَاكَ.
English Translation
Yazid told us, Hajjaj ibn Artat informed us, from Wabarah: I heard Ibn 'Umar say: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded the killing of the wolf for one in ihram - meaning also the mouse, the crow, and the kite. It was said to him, "What about the snake and the scorpion?" He said, "That too used to be said."
