حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَلْبَسُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنْ الثِّيَابِ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً مَا يَتْرُكُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنْ الثِّيَابِ فَقَالَ لَا يَلْبَسُ الْقَمِيصَ وَلَا الْبُرْنُسَ وَلَا السَّرَاوِيلَ وَلَا الْعِمَامَةَ وَلَا ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ الْوَرْسُ وَلَا الزَّعْفَرَانُ وَلَا الْخُفَّيْنِ إِلَّا لِمَنْ لَا يَجِدُ نَعْلَيْنِ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ الْخُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا حَتَّى يَكُونَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ الْكَعْبَيْنِ.
English Translation
Sufyan told us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, who said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, what garments the muhrim may wear - Sufyan once said: what the muhrim should avoid of garments - and he said: "He should not wear the shirt, nor the burnus, nor trousers, nor a turban, nor any garment touched by wars or saffron, nor khuffs, except for one who cannot find sandals; whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear the khuffs, cutting them so that they are below the ankles."
