حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَا ذَاكَ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَسَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَحَمَّادًا يُحَدِّثَانِ أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ لَا يَدْرِي أَثَلَاثًا صَلَّى أَمْ خَمْسًا.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'ba told us, from al-Hakam, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah, from Abdullah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he prayed the Dhuhr with five rak'ahs, and it was said to him, "Has something been added to the prayer?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What is that?" They said, "You prayed five." So he prostrated two prostrations after having given the salutation of peace. Shu'ba said: I heard Sulayman and Hammad narrating that Ibrahim did not know whether he prayed three or five.
