حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَلِيلًا.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'No woman should travel except with a mahram (male relative), and no man should enter upon a woman unless she has a mahram.' A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have been enlisted in such-and-such an army, and my wife has set out for Hajj.' He said: 'Go and perform Hajj with your wife.'
