حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Every one of you is a shepherd, and every one of you is responsible for his flock. The imam who is over the people is a shepherd and he is responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of his household and he is responsible for his flock. A woman is the shepherd of her husband's home and children and she is responsible for them. A servant is the shepherd of his master's wealth and he is responsible for it. Every one of you is a shepherd and every one of you is responsible for his flock.'
