English Translation
We used to greet the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he was in prayer and he would respond to us. When we returned from Abyssinia, we greeted him and he did not respond to us. We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we used to greet you in prayer and you would respond.' He said: 'Indeed, in the prayer there is an engagement (that prevents speaking).'
