حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ عَنْ فُرَاتٍ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَبِي عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَسَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed the best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of affairs are newly invented matters, and every innovation is misguidance.'
