English Translation
Muhammad told us, Shu'bah told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Amr ibn Maymun, from Abdullah, who said: While the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was prostrating, with some men of Quraysh around him, Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt came with the afterbirth of a slaughtered camel and threw it upon the back of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, but he did not raise his head. Then Fatimah came and removed it from his back, and invoked Allah against whoever had done that. He said: So he said: "O Allah, upon You be the assembly of Quraysh: Abu Jahl ibn Hisham, Utbah ibn Rabi'ah, Shaybah ibn Rabi'ah, Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt, and Umayyah ibn Khalaf" — or "Ubayy ibn Khalaf." Shu'bah, the one uncertain, told us: he said: I indeed saw them killed on the day of Badr and thrown into a well, except that Umayyah — or Ubayy — his limbs had been cut apart, so he was not thrown into the well. Khalaf told us, Isra'il told us, and he mentioned the hadith, except that he said "Amr ibn Hisham" and "Umayyah ibn Khalaf," and he added "and Umarah ibn al-Walid."
