حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَنْبَأَنَا سَيَّارٌ وَمُغِيرَةُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ خَصْلَتَانِ يَعْنِي إِحْدَاهُمَا سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْأُخْرَى مِنْ نَفْسِي مَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ يَجْعَلُ لِلَّهِ نِدًّا دَخَلَ النَّارَ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ مَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ لَا يَجْعَلُ لِلَّهِ نِدًّا وَلَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ.
English Translation
Hushaym told us: Sayyar and Mughirah informed us, from Abu Wa'il, who said: Ibn Mas'ud said: "Two matters - I heard one of them from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the other is from myself: whoever dies while setting up a rival to Allah enters the Fire; and I say: whoever dies while not setting up a rival to Allah and not associating anything with Him enters Paradise."
