حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ نُصِرْتُ بِالصَّبَا وَأُهْلِكَتْ عَادٌ بِالدَّبُورِ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to Madinah and found them fasting on the day of Ashura. He asked about it. They said: This is the day on which Musa was saved. He said: We have more right to Musa, so fast it.'
