English Translation
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Sulayman, meaning Ibn Qarm, narrated to us, from Simak, from Humayd, the nephew of Safwan ibn Umayyah, from Safwan ibn Umayyah, who said: I was sleeping in the mosque on a fine garment of mine, and it was stolen. We caught the thief and brought him to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who ordered his hand be cut. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, for a garment worth thirty dirhams? I will give it to him or sell it to him." He said: "If only this had been before you brought him to me."
