حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ قَالَ ثَنَا شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ ذَبَّ عَنْ لَحْمِ أَخِيهِ فِي الْغِيبَةِ كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُعْتِقَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Ubaydullah ibn Abi Ziyad informed us, Shahr ibn Hawshab narrated to us, from Asma' bint Yazid, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever defends his brother's flesh from backbiting, it will be a right upon Allah to free him from the Fire."
