حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْعَقِيقَةُ عَنْ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ وَعَنْ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ.
English Translation
Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Ayyash narrated to me, from Thabit ibn Ajlan, from Mujahid, from Asma' bint Yazid, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "The aqiqah for a boy is two equal sheep, and for a girl is one sheep."
