حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَعْدَانُ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ قَالَ صَدَقَ أَنَا صَبَبْتُ لَهُ وَضُوءَهُ.
English Translation
Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father narrated to us, al-Husayn narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir. He said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Amr al-Awza'i narrated to me, Ya'ish ibn al-Walid ibn Hisham narrated to him that his father narrated to him. He said: Ma'dan ibn Abi Talhah narrated to me that Abu al-Darda' informed him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) vomited and broke his fast. He said: Then I met Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), in the mosque of Damascus, and I said: "Abu al-Darda' informed me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) vomited and broke his fast." He said: "He spoke the truth. I poured water for his wudu."
