حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِآلِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ إِنَّ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ قَالَتْ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ أَبِي زَمْعَةَ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ أُمَّ وَلَدٍ لَهُ وَإِنَّا كُنَّا نَظُنُّهَا بِرَجُلٍ وَإِنَّهَا وَلَدَتْ فَخَرَجَ وَلَدُهَا يُشْبِهُ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي ظَنَنَّاهَا بِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهَا أَمَّا أَنْتِ فَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ بِأَخِيكِ وَلَهُ الْمِيرَاثُ.
English Translation
Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, from a freed slave of the family of al-Zubayr, who said: The daughter of Zam'ah said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "My father Zam'ah died and left behind a slave woman of his. We used to suspect her of being involved with a man, and she gave birth, and her child came out resembling the man we suspected her with." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her: "As for you, observe hijab from him, for he is not your brother, but he is entitled to the inheritance."
