حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَاقِدٌ بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ بِالْإِبْهَامِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدْ اقْتَرَبَ فُتِحَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ رَدْمِ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مِثْلُ مَوْضِعِ الدِّرْهَمِ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَهْلِكُ وَفِينَا الصَّالِحُونَ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَعَمْ إِذَا كَثُرَ الْخَبَثُ.
English Translation
Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Ibn Shihab mentioned, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from Zaynab bint Abi Salamah, from Umm Habibah bint Abi Sufyan, from Zaynab bint Jahsh, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon me while he was joining his index finger with his thumb, and he was saying: "Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has drawn near! Today a breach has been made in the barrier of Gog and Magog like this," and he made a circle with his fingers like a dirham. She said: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, shall we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes, when wickedness prevails."
