حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْجَرَّاحِ مَوْلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يُخْبِرُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْعِيرُ الَّتِي فِيهَا الْجَرَسُ لَا تَصْحَبُهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ.
English Translation
Hashim told us, Layth - meaning Ibn Sa'd - told us, Nafi' told me, from Salim ibn Abdullah, from al-Jarrah, freed slave of Umm Habibah, wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he heard him inform Abdullah ibn Umar that Umm Habibah told him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The caravan in which there is a bell is not accompanied by the angels."
