حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ الْأَحْوَلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَكْحُولٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ أَنَّ أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَّنَهُ الْأَذَانَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ كَلِمَةً وَالْإِقَامَةَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ كَلِمَةً اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَالْإِقَامَةُ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى لَا يُرَجِّعُ.
English Translation
Abd al-Samad told us, he said: Hammam told us, he said: Amir al-Ahwal told us, he said: Makhul told us: Abdullah ibn Muhayriz told us that Abu Mahdhurah told him: that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him the adhan in nineteen phrases and the iqamah in seventeen phrases: "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to prayer, come to prayer. Come to success, come to success. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no god but Allah." And the iqamah is said twice each, without repetition.
