حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَهْلَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَطُوفُونَ وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ الْيَوْمُ قَرْنَا عَيْنَا نَقْرَعُ الْمَرْوَتَيْنَا.
English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Yazid, from his father, from Siba' ibn Thabit, who said: I heard the people of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance performing the circling [of the Ka'bah] while saying, "Today we shall cool our eyes; we shall strike the two hillocks of al-Marwa."
