حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتِ رُقَيْقَةَ التَّيْمِيَّةِ قَالَتْ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لِنُبَايِعَهُ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ جِئْنَا لِنُبَايِعَكَ عَلَى أَنْ لَا نُشْرِكَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا نَسْرِقَ وَلَا نَزْنِيَ وَلَا نَقْتُلَ أَوْلَادَنَا وَلَا نَأْتِيَ بِبُهْتَانٍ نَفْتَرِيهِ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَأَرْجُلِنَا وَلَا نَعْصِيَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ قَالَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَعْتُنَّ قَالَتْ قُلْنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا بَايِعْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ اذْهَبْنَ فَقَدْ بَايَعْتُكُنَّ إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ كَقَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ قَالَتْ وَلَمْ يُصَافِحْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَّا امْرَأَةً.
English Translation
Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, from Ibn Ishaq, he said: Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir narrated to me, from Umaymah bint Ruqayqah al-Taymiyyah, she said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with a group of Muslim women to pledge allegiance to him. We said: O Messenger of Allah, we have come to pledge allegiance to you that we will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill our children, nor bring forth slander that we fabricate between our hands and our feet, nor disobey you in anything good. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: As much as you are able and willing. She said: We said: Allah and His Messenger are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves; take our pledge, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Go, for I have accepted your pledge; my word to a hundred women is like my word to a single woman. She said: And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not shake hands with any of us women.
