حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُكَاتَبُ يُودَى مَا أَعْتَقَ مِنْهُ بِحِسَابِ الْحُرِّ وَمَا رَقَّ مِنْهُ بِحِسَابِ الْعَبْدِ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The mukatab (a slave who has a contract to buy his freedom) is to be compensated for the portion that has been freed according to the rate of a free person, and for the portion that remains enslaved according to the rate of a slave.'
