حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى فَاخِتَةَ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ عَنْ فَاخِتَةَ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَتْ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ أَجَرْتُ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَحْمَائِي فَأَدْخَلْتُهُمَا بَيْتًا وَأَغْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمَا بَابًا فَجَاءَ ابْنُ أُمِّي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَتَفَلَّتَ عَلَيْهِمَا بِالسَّيْفِ قَالَتْ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ وَوَجَدْتُ فَاطِمَةَ فَكَانَتْ أَشَدَّ عَلَيَّ مِنْ زَوْجِهَا قَالَتْ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ الْغُبَارِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ وَأَمَّنَّا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ.
English Translation
Waki' told us: Ibn Abi Dhi'b told us, from Sa'id b. Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Murrah, the freedman of Fakhitah Umm Hani', from Fakhitah Umm Hani' bint Abi Talib, who said: On the Day of the Conquest of Makkah, I granted protection to two men from among my in-laws, and brought them into a house and shut the door on them. Then my mother's son, Ali b. Abi Talib, came and made to attack them with the sword. She said: I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) but did not find him, and found Fatimah, who was harsher with me than her husband. She said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, with the traces of dust upon him, and I informed him. He said, 'O Umm Hani', we grant protection to whomever you have protected, and we grant safe conduct to whomever you have granted safe conduct.'
