حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ مَا مَاتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرَ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا غَيْرَ الْفَرِيضَةِ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ أَدْوَمَهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ.
English Translation
Muhammad b. Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us: I heard Abu Ishaq say that he heard Abu Salamah relate from Umm Salamah, who said: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not die until the greater part of his prayer was performed sitting, apart from the obligatory prayer, and the deed most beloved to him was the one most continually maintained, even if it was little."
