حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ وَلَدٍ لِابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَتْ كُنْتُ امْرَأَةً لِي ذَيْلٌ طَوِيلٌ وَكُنْتُ آتِي الْمَسْجِدَ وَكُنْتُ أَسْحَبُهُ فَسَأَلْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ قُلْتُ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ ذَيْلِي طَوِيلٌ وَإِنِّي آتِي الْمَسْجِدَ وَإِنِّي أَسْحَبُهُ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الْقَذِرِ ثُمَّ أَسْحَبُهُ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الطَّيِّبِ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا مَرَّتْ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الْقَذِرِ ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الطَّيِّبِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ طَهُورٌ.
English Translation
Safwan b. Isa told us: Muhammad b. Umarah informed us, from Muhammad b. Ibrahim al-Taymi, who said: A freed slave-mother of Ibn Abd al-Rahman b. Awf told me: I was a woman with a long train, and I used to go to the mosque and drag it. So I asked Umm Salamah; I said, "I am a woman with a long train, and I go to the mosque, and I drag it over a filthy place, then I drag it over a clean place." Umm Salamah said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When it passes over a filthy place, and then passes over a clean place, that purifies it."
