English Translation
Narrated to us by Waki', who said: Sufyan narrated to us: Abu 'Awn Muhammad ibn 'Ubaydullah al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Shaddad, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah relate to Marwan, saying: "Perform ablution from that which fire has touched." So Marwan sent to Umm Salamah and asked her, and she said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gnawed at a shoulder of meat in my presence, then went out to prayer without touching water." And my father [the narrator's father] said: Sufyan heard from Abu 'Awn only this one hadith.
