حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الْخَمْرِ قَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ حَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ.
English Translation
Ziyad ibn Abdullah told us: Mansur told us, from Muslim ibn Subayh, from Masruq, who said: Aisha said: When the verse in Surat al-Baqarah about wine was revealed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited it in the mosque, then he forbade trading in wine.
