Ya'qub told us: My father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn al-Zubayr told me that Abbad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr told him that Aisha told him: While the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting in the shade of the tall fortress of Hassan, a man came to him and said, "I am burned up, O Messenger of Allah!" He said, "What is the matter with you?" He said, "I had intercourse with my wife while I was fasting" - she said, and that was in Ramadan - so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "Sit down." So he sat at the side of the people. Then a man came with a donkey carrying a sack of dates, and said, "This is my charity, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Where is the one who was burned up just now?" He said, "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Take this and give it in charity." He said, "Is there anyone more deserving of charity than me and my family, O Messenger of Allah? By Him Who sent you with the truth, my family and I have nothing." He said, "Then take it for yourselves." So he took it.
