English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us from Ma'mar, al-Zuhri said: and Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me that Aisha said: 'I never knew my parents except that they both professed this religion, and no day passed over us but that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would come to us at both ends of the day, morning and evening. When the Muslims were persecuted, Abu Bakr set out migrating toward the land of Abyssinia, until, when he reached Bark al-Ghimad, Ibn al-Daghinah, chief of the tribe of al-Qarah, met him and said: Where are you heading, O Abu Bakr? Abu Bakr said: My people have expelled me...' - and he mentioned the hadith - and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to the Muslims: 'I have been shown the land of your migration; I was shown a salt-marsh land with palm trees, between two lava tracts' - these being the two harrahs. So those who had migrated set out toward Madinah when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned that, and some of those who had migrated to the land of Abyssinia returned to Madinah. Abu Bakr prepared himself to migrate, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: 'Wait, for I hope that I will be given permission.' Abu Bakr said: 'Do you really hope for that, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you?' He said: 'Yes.' So Abu Bakr held himself back for the sake of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in order to accompany him, and he fed two riding camels he had on the leaves of the samur tree for four months. Al-Zuhri said, Urwah said, Aisha said: While we were sitting one day in our house during the intense heat of midday, someone said to Abu Bakr: 'Here is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, coming, his face covered, at an hour he never used to come to us.' Abu Bakr said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for him, by Allah, he would not come at this hour except for an important matter.' So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came and asked permission, and it was granted, and he entered. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Abu Bakr when he entered: 'Send out whoever is with you.' Abu Bakr said: 'They are only your family, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah.' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'I have indeed been given permission to leave.' Abu Bakr said: 'Then may I accompany you, may my father be sacrificed, O Messenger of Allah?' The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Yes.' Abu Bakr said: 'Then take, may my father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, one of these two riding camels of mine.' The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'For a price.' She said: So we prepared the two of them with the best of preparations, and made for them provisions in a leather bag, and Asma bint Abi Bakr cut off a piece from her waist-sash and tied up the bag with it; so for that she was called the one with the two sashes. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr made their way to a cave in a mountain called Thawr, and they stayed in it for three nights.'
