حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ الْمُعْتَكِفِ وَكَيْفَ سُنَّتُهُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَعُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Bakr told us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: Ibn Shihab told me, concerning the one performing i'tikaf and what his practice was, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab and Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from Aishah, wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that she informed them both that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform i'tikaf during the last ten days of the month of Ramadan until Allah, Mighty and Majestic, caused him to die.
